Terms of Service

By accessing or using CodexIQ ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Alpha status

CodexIQ is currently in alpha. This means:

The Service is provided for early-access testing and feedback purposes.
Features, pricing, data retention policies, and these Terms may change at any time with or without notice during the alpha period.
The Service is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. We make no guarantees of uptime, data persistence, or fitness for any particular purpose.
We may reset, wipe, or migrate data as necessary during alpha operations. We will attempt to give advance notice where possible.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use CodexIQ. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement. CodexIQ is currently invite-gated; access requires a valid access code.

Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
You must notify us promptly of any unauthorised access to your account.
You may not share your account or access code with others.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use CodexIQ to:

Upload, store, or process content that is illegal, harmful, abusive, defamatory, or infringes on third-party rights.
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' data or to our systems.
Use the Service in a way that could damage, disable, or impair it.
Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service.
Use the Service to train or fine-tune machine-learning models without express written permission.

Your content

You retain ownership of all content you create or upload to CodexIQ. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and transmit your content solely to provide the Service to you. We do not claim ownership of your Glyphs, Nodes, Codexes, or any other content.

AI-generated content

CodexIQ uses third-party AI APIs (currently OpenAI) to generate summaries, Insights, and Prism suggestions. AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying AI output before relying on it. We make no warranties regarding the accuracy or fitness of AI-generated content.

Intellectual property

The CodexIQ name, logo, software, and design are owned by or licensed to us. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights to use our intellectual property other than as necessary to use the Service.

Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU HAVE PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM (WHICH, DURING THE FREE ALPHA, IS ZERO).

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, or at our discretion during the alpha period. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms at any time during the alpha. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will note the "Last updated" date above when changes are made.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which CodexIQ operates, without regard to conflict of law principles. This section will be updated with a specific jurisdiction before commercial release.
